State Water Management and Water Conservation and Efficiency Program Reports Available

The State Water Management and Water Conservation and Efficiency Program Reports are now available.  

Section 3.4 of the Great Lakes St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact states that, "Each Party shall submit a report to the Council and the Regional Body detailing its
Water management and conservation and efficiency programs that implement this
Compact.....The...report shall be provided by each [State]...every 5 years."

Following a review of these programs, the Compact Council, in cooperation with the Provinces, reviews the water management and water conservation and efficiency programs of the Parties makes findings on whether the Water management program provisions in the Compact are being met, and if not, recommend options to assist the Parties in meeting the provisions of the Compact.

In compliance with this requirement, each of the parties have submitted their program reports, which can be found on this website.  The reports may be revised and updated, and it will be noted if that has occurred.

The programs are now undergoing review by the States and Declarations of Finding on the State programs are scheduled for release at the December 2025 meeting of the Compact Council.
